The 2008-09 season is over and the NY Rangers are the champs. The Calgary Flames traded away some top flight talent and
shed themselves of some salary. Flames management has decided to go into rebuilding mode. Look for the Flames to shed more
salary leading up to the draft.
Last summer, the Flames signed veteran defenseman Derian Hatcher to a 3 year $8.25 million contract. Derian has lost
the motivation to be a player and has announced his retirement, but, he does want to stay in hockey and may accept an assistant
coaching job with the Flames.
Flames management is always looking to improve their team, any trade offers
will be welcome.
